Epoxy resins have wide applications in various industries due to their low cost, easy processability, good thermal, mechanical and electrical properties, etc. With the rapid developments in spacecraft and superconducting cable technologies, and large cryogenic engineering projects such as the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), etc., epoxy resins have also been increasingly employed in cryogenic engineering applications as impregnating materials, adhesives and matrices for advanced composites. However, neat epoxy resins usually have poor crack resistance at room temperature and could be more brittle at very low temperatures such as liquid nitrogen temperatures, which makes them unsuitable for cryogenic engineering applications. Thus, it is of great significance to enhance the cryogenic mechanical properties of neat epoxy resins using micro- and nano-reinforcements such as carbon nanotubes, graphene oxide, carbon fibers and glass fibers etc.. This work presents some recent progress in research work on the mechanical properties at cryogenic temperatures such as 77 K of epoxy composites by carbon nanotubes, glass fibers, carbon fibers and graphene nanosheets etc [1-3 etc.]. It is demonstrated that the introduction of carbon nanofillers at proper contents into epoxy resins can effectively enhance the cryogenic mechanical properties. Furthermore, the epoxy nanocomposites as matrices are beneficial for further improving the mechanical properties of fiber reinforced composites.

主讲人介绍:

付绍云,男,1964年7月生,1993年于中国科学院金属研究所获得博士学位,导师周本濂院士和龙期威研究员。曾在德国(洪堡学者)、新加坡南洋理工大学、澳洲悉尼大学、美国加州大学和香港城市大学工作约8年。2002年作为中科院百人计划研究员引进,目前在中科院理化所主持树脂基纳米复合材料和低温力学测试技术的研究工作。

至今共发表国内外刊物论文200余篇,SCI收录论文160余篇,SCI引用约4400次,h-index = 37,申请国家专利50余项,已授权30余项。第1作者合作出版英文著作1部(Sci Eng of SFRP Composites,2009,英国Woodhead出版社)和第2主编1部(Polymers at Cryogenic Temperatures,2013,德国Springer出版社)等。合作中文著作1部,英文著作4章节,参与《材料大典》(主编:路甬祥)的《中国复合材料大典》(主编:杜善义和益小苏)的编写工作,贡献2篇,数十万字内容。

现任中科院理化所学位委员会委员,研究员,博士生导师,工程塑料国家工程中心副主任。兼职:中国复合材料学会常务理事/副秘书长、《复合材料学报》副主编、《玻璃钢/复合材料》编委、中国复合材料学会微纳米复合材料专业委员会主任、中国力学学会高级会员和美国化学会会员等职。长期从事高分子基复合材料相关的基础理论和应用基础研究,主要在复合材料微观结构与物理、力学性能关系方面进行了系统的探索。十多年来承担并完成了中科院重大仪器研制项目、百人计划项目、国家自然科学基金面上项目、863项目、北京市基金重点项目和航天等部门材料极低温力学性能研究等多个科研项目。
